Narrow Cross Section Rotary Shaft V Seal (L)

Narrow Cross Section Rotary Shaft V Seal (L)

Brand: Parker Hannifin

Parker’s “L” style V seal, also called a V ring, has a narrow cross section for rotating shafts where space is limited.

It is primarily used for the exclusion of dirt, dust or water as well as retention of grease or other viscous fluids.

The V seal may also be used as a secondary seal to protect primary seals by excluding contamination in hostile environments.

How it works:
The seal body has a stretch fit on the shaft and the flexible lip seals against the counter face.

As the shaft rotates the seal also acts as a slinger.

Centrifugal force produces a decrease in contact pressure of the elastomer lip as speeds increase – keeping frictional losses and heat to a minimum.
