MPP - Micro-Perforated Plate

MPP™ or "Micro-Perf" is a useful part of the Dynapore® family of microporous stainless steel materials. This series of materials is produced by super-calendering and diffusion-bonding woven wire meshes. Calendaring and sintering imparts strength, a smooth surface finish, and permanent unchangeable pore size. The result is a transformation of foraminate (woven) media into sheets resembling perforate materials. However, MPP™ offers a range of hole sizes unachievable by conventional perforation, at a cost substantially lower than photo-etched media. The section photomicrograph above indicates a flow path perpendicular to the planar surface with "nozzle-like" entrace and exit.
